The carrier (1) has a frame connected with a workpiece. The frame has mechanical cutting points (2a, 2b) with six degrees of freedom on a side surface, where the mechanical cutting points are provided opposite to each other. The cutting points allow a kinematically uniquely determined coupling between the carrier and a machine support (3). The cutting points allow processing of active surfaces (5a, 5b) on a structural element (4). Two coupling elements are provided with functionalities of the cutting points.
