摘要 A surface cooler (heat exchanger) 30 comprises a layer (plate) 50 through which a first fluid (oil) flows, fins 70 extending into a second fluid (air) pathway and being disposed at a first side of the layer and in heat transfer with the first fluid. An acoustic lining 10 reduces noise present in or transmitted by the second fluid pathway and the lining is disposed at a second side of the layer and opposite to the first side. Noise transfer tubes (101, fig 5) extend through the layer transferring noise to the acoustic lining. The layer may comprise of first 51 and second 52 separating plates and heat transfer pins 65 may be disposed in the layer and in contact with both plates. The fins may comprise cooling fins 71 supported by cross bars 72 that may be offset. The transfer tubes may be aligned with and in fluid communication with through-holes 100 in both plates. Ligaments (110) may be disposed in the layer to add strength and maintain alignment of the though-holes and transfer tubes. The acoustic lining may have a honeycomb configuration. The cooler may be installed in a wall of an aero engine turbofan bypass duct.
