PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a tire design method by computer simulation that can form an optimum tire design by evaluating the performance of a tire in combination with a vehicle mounted with the tire. SOLUTION: This tire design method by computer simulation has a step of modeling a tire to be designed on the basis of a design value, a step of inputting prescribed tire travel conditions, a step of performing the travel simulation of the tire on the basis of the travel conditions to acquire tire property data, a step of modeling the vehicle, a step of inputting prescribed vehicle travel conditions, a step of performing the travel simulation of the vehicle on the basis of the vehicle travel conditions and the tire property data acquired from the travel simulation of the tire, a step of computing evaluation data for evaluating tire performance from the travel simulation of the vehicle, and a step of changing the design value of the tire in the case of not attaining target performance as a result of evaluation with the evaluation data. A step of repeating the travel simulation of the tire and vehicle is carried out until attaining a purpose.
