Method and device for phase and/or pulse-width modulation

The device has a phase encoder, which is formed to derive a binary starting phase word and a binary end phase word with a definition from the input signal. The former start phase word determines a start time within a coding period. The end phase word determines an end time within the coding period. An independent claim is also included for a method for coding of an input signal in a digital pulse width- and phase modulated output signal.
