<p>The present invention relates to a process for the preparation of cyclic cis -diamines of formula
wherein Q is selected from the group consisting of -CH 2 -, -CH(CH 3 )-, -C(CH 3 ) 2 -, -(CH 2 ) 2 -, -(CH 2 ) 3 - and -(CH 2 ) 4 -; n is an integer from 0 to 4;
and each substituent R, if present, is independently a linear or branched C 1-8 alkyl attached to any one of the depicted carbon atoms;
starting from cyclic dienes such as cyclopentadiene and an azodicarboxylic acid derivative such as azodicarboxamide. Also claimed are novel bicyclic hydrazo compounds as intermediates in the process.</p> |
