[Class 52 (i)] [Also in Group X] Relates to panels or doors for lockers, bookcases, and the like, of the kind wherein the panel is first tilted about a horizontal axis to align it with guides, along which it is then slid horizontally and inwardly. The sliding is controlled by pinions on the hinge axis engaging racks on the guides. According to the invention, the guides are of channel section with the webs vertical, upper flange of each channel being narrower than the lower one, in which the rack is formed. As shown, the panel 10 is housed at the top of the compartment 11, in guide-channels 14, the upper flanges 15 of which are narrower than the lower flanges 16. The racks are formed by rows of perforations 17. The panel carries on its inner surface near the top, brackets 20, which form bearings for a spindle 22 carrying pinions 24 engaging the racks 17. The spindle has end bosses 27 which engage with the upper flanges 15. The brackets 20 carry also projections 23 engaging the lower flanges 16 which, in conjunction with the bosses 27, prevent upward'tilting of the panel when sliding. Fixed brackets 30 support the panel when it is sliding in the guides.
