<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an IP network end-to-end continuity test method, a router device, and a packet communication system, whereby a user and a system maintenance person can designate a specific relay route, and can perform a test going through a broken router. <P>SOLUTION: Routing information retained by each router is collected in advance, all routing information that each route in a self-network is connected is made by information collected for every router, and forwarding information is set in order of the course of each router to transmit an IP packet for an designated route end-to-end continuity test to an adjacent router.
