PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a shift control device restraining a sense of incongruity of a driver during a change in input rotating speed, when requiring acceleration in a shift-up process when decelerating a vehicle, in a vehicular continuously variable transmission changing the gear ratio so that an actual input rotating speed is changed toward a steady rotating speed based on a vehicle state. SOLUTION: When determining that the acceleration is required by an acceleration request determining means 176 in the shift-up process when decelerating the vehicle, since up-shift of the continuously variable transmission 18 is prohibited by an up-shift prohibiting means 170 so as not to reduce an actual input shaft rotating speed N<SB>IN</SB>, when generating an acceleration request such as stepping increasing operation of an accelerator pedal 68 in the middle of the up-shift when decelerating the vehicle, even when a basic target rotating speed N<SB>INBSE</SB>is lower than the actual input shaft rotating speed N<SB>IN</SB>, the sense of incongruity of the driver to a change in the actual input shaft rotating speed N<SB>IN</SB>is restrained by restraining reduction in the actual input shaft rotating speed N<SB>IN</SB>.
