PURPOSE: A communication device, communication system, and mode switching method and program are provided to initialize or terminate wireless LAN communications by a communication device worn by a user. CONSTITUTION: A moving signal detection unit(115) includes a first communication unit and a switching signal detection unit. The first communication unit communicates in a mode for generating and transmitting an electric near field in a human body. The switching signal detection unit detects a mode conversion signal for converting a power saving mode into a general mode.
