<p>The invention relates to a steam strainer (10) having a sieve surface (12) of a substantially cylindrical or conical design (16) and having a plurality of sieve openings (14) for the radial pass-through of steam. In order to enable a comparably low flow resistance in such a steam strainer (10), the sieve surface (12) is corrugated according to the invention. As a result of the corrugation of the sieve surface (12), the area effectively available for straining the steam is enlarged, allowing the flow resistance to be reduced.
