<p>The invention relates to microcapsules including a core containing one or more optionally hydrated alkaline metal borates dispersed in one or more inorganic, synthetic, or natural lubricating base oils, and a polymer shell. The invention further relates to a lubricating oil including microcapsules of the invention. The invention also relates to the use of microcapsules of the invention as an anti-wear and/or extreme-pressure additive for lubricating compositions. The invention further relates to a method for preparing microcapsules by interfacial polymerization.</p> |
