PURPOSE: An LED signboard system and a method for controlling the same are provided to display a message which is transmitted through a network and display a desired message with a simple operation of a remote controller. CONSTITUTION: A communication module(1) receives packet data through network from a management server. A communication control unit(2) determines an advertisement phrase and firmware/resource upgrade by analyzing the packet data. A remote controller(6) has a functional key which controls the advertisement phrase and the size/location of the advertisement phrase. An output control unit(3) displays an advertisement phrase which is transmitted from the communication control unit and an advertisement phrased selected by a signboard control signal of the remote controller. A content storage(4) stores content.
