PURPOSE: A melting furnace is provided to enable a target to be efficiently melted by collision of strong flame with the target and the entire molten metal to be efficiently radiated by diffusion flame, using one burner. CONSTITUTION: A melting furnace comprises a body(2), a burner(3), an auxiliary air nozzle(4), and a control unit(10). The body holds a target. The burner mixes fuel with main combustion air and can form strong flame, which collides with the target(As). The burner can also burn only some of the fuel by reducing the flow of the main combustion air. The auxiliary air nozzle supplies auxiliary combustion air to burn fuel remaining in combustion gas after combustion, to the body. When the target is melted, the control unit reduces the flow of the main combustion air of the burner. |
