FIELD: information technology. ^ SUBSTANCE: device has one or more light radiating modules which emit light at different wavelengths from the first to the n-th, where n is a whole number equal to or greater than 2; a radiation controller which controls radiation of the light radiating modules; a light receiving module which receives the component of light radiated from the light radiating module and then reflected from a sheet of paper and/or passing through a sheet of paper; and a paper recognition processor which recognises a sheet of paper using an optical signal received by the light receiving module.
