The device has a closing unit engaged in an opening (2) of a door or a window (20), where the closing unit is equipped with a thermal insulation unit. Articulation units articulate the closing unit between an opening position and a closing position, where the closing unit ensures free access to the opening in the opening position. The closing unit is tightly engaged in a part or whole of the opening in the closing position. The closing unit is in the form of a case (1) delimiting an enclosure that encloses thermal insulating material e.g. rock wool. An independent claim is also included for a room comprising a wall.
