LIGHTING SYSTEM FOR A DATA DISPLAY DEVICE INCLUDING A LIGHT GUIDE

PURPOSE: A lighting system for a data display device which include a light guide is provided to improve an optical output ratio by recycling light which is not used in an extraction area. CONSTITUTION: A light extractor(10) is arranged in an extraction area(24). A light guide(22) comprises an injection area(26) in which light is injected. The light guide is formed in a loop shape which is closed in the injection area. The injection area is expanded as the extraction area. The extraction area extracts the light which is transmitted to the inside of the light guide. The light is extracted from the light guide according to a direction which is vertical about a plane which is formed by a injection direction of the light and the generatrix line of a loop.
