The unit (1) has compressors (10, 20) e.g. spiral compressors, respectively associated with the refrigeration circuits (30) for cooling compartments (3) of vehicle component at different temperatures. Each of the compressors is driven by an energy source e.g. diesel engine, associated with the compressors or by a common energy source. Two casings respectively accommodate the compressors, where one of the casings is independent of the other casing.
