The device has a rigid metal structure (2) integrated with a body shell of a vehicle, and including an active main caster (3) arranged in contact with an omnidirectional spherical wheel (1) having a surface. The main caster assures movement of the spherical wheel. Self-oriented passive peripheral casters (4) are carried by the structure, and follow the movement of the spherical wheel to permit displacement their displacement in the structure. The main caster is positioned at a peak point of the spherical wheel. The main caster is mounted on a rotary plate (5).
