Disclosed is a fuel cell system which is provided with a fuel cell (22), a pressure control part (62), and an exhaust valve (50). The pressure control part (62) is disposed in a fuel gas passage (60) through which fuel gas to be supplied to the fuel cell (22) flows, so as to control pressure of the fuel gas to be supplied to the fuel cell (22). The exhaust valve (50) is disposed in fuel exhaust gas passages (63e, 63m, 63r) through which fuel exhaust gas discharged from the fuel cell (22) flows, and discharges at least a portion of the fuel exhaust gas to outside of the fuel exhaust gas passages when opened. Before the exhaust valve (50) is opened, the pressure of the fuel gas to be supplied to the fuel cell (22) is further lowered by controlling the pressure control part (62). Then, the exhaust valve (50) is opened when the pressure of the fuel gas to be supplied to the fuel cell (22) is equal to a lowered first pressure. |
