<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To use an imaging apparatus appropriately in accordance with an installation state of the imaging apparatus. <P>SOLUTION: An image sensor 31 has sensitivity to infrared rays. The control circuit 45 determines whether an imaging apparatus is mounted in a state where an image of a fundus of a subject eye to be tested can be captured based on reflected light flux from the fundus and controls a function of the imaging apparatus depending on determination results. If the imaging apparatus is mounted, predetermined photographing condition is set and image data of visible observation or infrared observation is captured.
