<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make possible displaying according to the state of overlapping between a translucent type display and some other type display. <P>SOLUTION: A display apparatus is provided with a first unit 110 and a second unit 120 which can shift in relative terms. The first unit 110 is provided with a first display 111, and the second unit 120 is provided with a second display 121. The second display 121 is a translucent type display, via which what is behind it (e.g. the first display 111) is visible. The first display 111 and the second display 121 differ in the pictures they display between a form in which they overlap each (first form) and a form in which they do not (second form).
