<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electroplated grinding wheel in which density of abrasive grains can be optionally controlled according to materials to be machined and machining conditions, which has sufficient strength and grinding capability, in which the lowering of service life due to the clogging of cutting chips is prevented from being shortened, and which is superior in cost efficiency, and to provide a method for producing the same. <P>SOLUTION: The electroplated grinding wheel has a grindstone base metal 2 and an abrasive grain layer 6 formed in an abrasive grain layer forming face 3 of the grindstone base metal 2. The abrasive grain layer 6 has: a first abrasive grain layer 6a in which the first abrasive grain 4a arranged in a single layer shape in the abrasive grain layer forming face 3 are fixed to the abrasive grain layer forming face 3 by the first plating layer 5a with the thickness of 5 to 75% of the average particle size of the first abrasive grains 4a; and a second abrasive grain layer 6b in which the second abrasive grains 4b, which is arranged in a monolayer state between gaps formed by the first abrasive grain 4a exposed from the first plating layer 5a, having the average particle size smaller than that of the first abrasive grains 4a are fixed to the first abrasive grain layer 6a by the second plating layer 5b with the thickness completely covering the first abrasive grain layer 4a. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
