<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a curtain airbag device capable of more strongly pressing a folded body of a curtain airbag to a compartment side during inflation of the curtain airbag, easily adjusting a pressing pressure against the folded body of the curtain airbag toward the compartment side and a moving amount of the folded body toward the compartment side, and facilitating a folding work of the curtain airbag. <P>SOLUTION: A diffuser 4 is disposed on a side surface of a folded body of a curtain airbag body 1A at the side of a roof side part 10. The diffuser 4 is folded along a folding line extending in the vehicle front-rear direction so as to be in a state where at least two layers are folded. When a vehicle is subjected to side impact or overturned, an inflator 3 is actuated to inject gas, and the gas from the inflator 3 flows into the diffuser 4 first to inflate the diffuser 4. Accordingly, inflation force of the folded body of the curtain airbag body 1A and inflation pressure of the diffuser 4 are superimposed to press a lower edge of a roof side garnish 11 toward the inner side of the compartment. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
