<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a position information transmission method of a digital map, enabling an efficient and accurate transmission of a position on the digital map. <P>SOLUTION: In a position information transmission method, a transmission side transmits position information including a coordinate series information specifying the shape of a vector on a digital map, and a reception side identifies the shape of the vector on the digital map by running a map matching function with the coordinate series information. The coordinate series information is transmitted with azimuth information of coordinate points, included in the coordinate series information. Transmitting data of the shape with the azimuth information increases an accuracy of the matching and enables to decrease the duration of the matching. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
