The invention relates to a structure (40) for an aircraft jet engine and to a related mounting method, wherein the structure includes an antifriction bearing (12a) which includes an outer ring (46), a bearing bracket (14a), a binding band (44) inserted between the ring and the bracket, a means for connecting the ring to the bracket including an attachment flange (50) mounted on the bearing bracket, and a flexible connection means (52) attached to the ring and to the flange, wherein the structure also includes a means enabling axial holding of the ring in the event of the flexible connection means breaking, said means including a first abutment means in the form of a plurality of pins (64) inserted in pin-receiving openings (66) made in said binding band (44) and capable of holding said binding band axially relative to the bracket (14a), and a second abutment means (64) secured to the binding band and capable of holding the ring (46) axially relative to said binding band. |
