<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide users with an attractive user interface which is compatible with a display screen of increasing size and resolution embedded in communication devices such as mobile phones and PDAs, and facilitates use of these devices in consideration of limitations of throughput of the devices, and to provide fast responses to user input. <P>SOLUTION: A user interface is provided which is defined by a plurality of actors and a plurality of attributes associated with the actors. A renderer is used to render the user interface in accordance with the attributes of the actors.
