<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sterilizer of a touch activation device to disinfect a contact area when a user physically contacts or comes close to the contact area of the touch activation device. <P>SOLUTION: A sterilizing device 10 comprises a light guiding member 14 and an ultraviolet light source 12. The light guiding member 14 has one surface 144. The ultraviolet light source 12 emits the ultraviolet light rays 150 such that the ultraviolet light rays 150 are guided into the guiding member 14 based on a total internal reflection.
