<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rotary electric machine that can reduce cogging torque caused by distortion of a magnetic circuit in a stator core that occurs due to unevenness in stress applied to the stator core, while maintaining mechanical strength and machinability in its stator structure. <P>SOLUTION: In a rotary electric machine having a rotor with magnetic poles and a stator whose stator core is fixed by a stator-core fixing member 10, the stator is provided with a groove 14 or a hole so that the stator's cross-sectional shape is changed in the axial direction. The groove 14 extends in an oblique direction to a rotational axis on an outer peripheral surface or an inner peripheral surface of the stator-core fixing member 10, while the hole extends in the oblique direction to the rotational axis in the stator-core fixing member 10. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
