A vcommon voltage counter electrode is designed as a whole-area transparent electrode layer and exhibits a counter function with respect to the pixel electrodes. A sensor device comprises a boundary electrode, which is arranged in a boundary area that is adjacent to the latter electrode. The sensor device detects finger or hand of a user in a region that is arranged upstream of the display.
