<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a balloon catheter with a novel structure by which safety can be secured by preventing a blade from falling down into a blood vessel and the lowering of durability and the difficulty of handling can be eliminated by arranging a blade edge to a needless part. <P>SOLUTION: In the balloon catheter 10 in which an expandable/contractable balloon 14 is arranged in the distal end side of shaft 18, 20 and a blade 30 is arranged in the surface of the balloon 14, the blade 30 is constituted by including an edge part 32 arrange on the surface of the balloon 14 and an extending out part 36 integrally extending out from the edge part 32 and arranged and held displaced from the balloon 14 to the base end side, the edge part 32 and the extending out part 36 have cross-sectional shapes different from each other, and the blade edge 38 protruding outward is formed only in the edge part 32. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
