PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve a problem that a cassette cannot be made small because a protruding portion should be provided in the cassette, and the length of the cassette is elongated in an installation direction.

SOLUTION: The loading device includes: the cassette 11 having a protruding portion 11a in which paper is accommodated; an installation portion in which the cassette 11 is installed; a lever 150 as a transmission member in which a distance from a shaft 150c to an abutting portion 150d is shorter than a distance from the shaft 150c to a connection portion 150e, the lever transmitting a force that the abutting portion 150d receives from the cassette 11 to the connection portion 150e as an acting force by rotating on the shaft 150c as the axis when the protruding portion 11a of the cassette 11 abuts on the abutting portion 150d; a damper mechanism; a separation slope separating the paper; and the stopper 140 as a restriction member restricting the movement of the paper at an upstream side position in the installation direction D2 of the separation slope, and releasing the restriction on the movement of the paper by retreating from a position where the stopper restricts the paper when receiving the acting force from the damper mechanism.
