<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To simultaneously determine a heat transmission coefficient α between a mold and a solidified shell which is a main cause that governs the condition within the mold, and a heat transmission coefficient β between a molten steel and the solidified shell. <P>SOLUTION: In continuous casting, there are heat conductors such as a solidified shell 2, a mold powder layer 3, and a mold 4 between a molten steel 1 and a cooling water for the mold. An estimating method for the condition in a mold estimates the condition in the mold by acquiring a heat transmission coefficient α between the solidified shell 2 and the mold 4 as well as a heat transmission coefficient β between the molten steel 1 and the solidified shell 2. Using a plurality of thermocouples 5 embedded in the mold 4, each of them deviated along molding direction, the thermal flux that passes the mold is acquired. The heat transmission coefficient α and the heat transmission coefficient β are simultaneously determined by using the thermal flux and an equation which contains the heat transmission coefficient α and the heat transmission coefficient β to represent a thermal flux that passes the mold. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
