<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus provided with a fixing device capable of switching a nip pressure in a fixing nip depending on environmental conditions. <P>SOLUTION: The provided fixing device 9 comprises a storage part 52; a first rotating body 9a; a second rotating body 9b; a support member 524 capable of changing the position of the second rotating body 9b with respect to the first rotating body 9a; a switching member 521 capable of switching between states, in one of which the pressing force of a first biasing member 522 capable of generating a first nip pressure is transmitted to the second rotating body 9b and in another of which the pressing force of a second biasing member 525 capable of generating a second nip pressure smaller than the first nip pressure is transmitted to the second rotating body 9b; a pressing member 523 capable of moving the switching member 521; a pressing member position change part 512 for moving the pressing member 523; a temperature detection member 70; and a fixing nip change control section 110 for controlling the pressing member position change part 512 so that the switching member 521 is positioned at a predetermined position based on the humidity detected by the humidity detection member 70. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
