<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a secondary air supply device that prevents the occurrence of vibration and noise with operation of an air pump, when an internal combustion engine includes the secondary air supply device and coolant is heated by a coolant heat source such as a block heater. <P>SOLUTION: A coolant temperature and an intake air temperature are detected while the coolant has been heated by the block heater 40, then the air pump 12 is started to operate only when the coolant temperature reaches at the lower limit within a prescribed air-pump operation-allowing range and the intake air temperature is equal to or more than a prescribed air-pump operation temperature. Thereafter when the coolant temperature reaches at the upper limit within the prescribed air-pump operation-allowing range, the air pump 12 is stopped. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
