#CMT# #/CMT# The injector (110) has a channel arrangement (100) with two channels (120, 140) running along respective longitudinal axes (130, 150) via a body. The longitudinal axes include an acute angle (alpha) in a range of 45 to 70 degrees. Cross-section of one of the channels is greater than that of the other channel. A recess (160) is set in an intersecting portion of the channels in the body by electrochemical removal. The recess is formed in rectangular shape in a sectional plane with one of the longitudinal axes. Opposite edges (170, 180) of the rectangular shaped recess are uniformly rounded. #CMT# : #/CMT# An independent claim is also included for a method for manufacturing a fuel injector. #CMT#USE : #/CMT# Fuel injector. #CMT#ADVANTAGE : #/CMT# The recess is formed in rectangular shape in the sectional plane comprising the longitudinal axis, where the opposite edges of the rectangular shaped recess are uniformly rounded, so that better surface quality and idle contour design can be achieved, thus minimizing hydraulically induced stresses in the intersecting portion, and hence increasing service life of the injector. The recess is provided in the intersecting portion of the channels in the body by electrochemical removal, so that milling or boring of a basic structure of the recess can be avoided while allowing small error tolerance than machining production, thus ensuring cost-effective production of the recess and achieving improved process safety. The utilization of electrochemical removal ensures improved geometric reproducibility of the channel arrangement and reliable simulation result. #CMT#DESCRIPTION OF DRAWINGS : #/CMT# The drawing shows a longitudinal sectional view of a channel arrangement in a fuel injector. alpha : Acute angle 100 : Channel arrangement 110 : Fuel injector 120, 140 : Channels 130, 150 : Longitudinal axes 160 : Recess 170, 180 : Opposite edges of rectangular shaped recess.
|
