<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technique to accurately judge the possibility that some objects jump out from the dead angle region in a dead angle area detection device for detecting a dead angle area showing the area to be dead angle around own vehicle. <P>SOLUTION: An operation support system obtains in a radar processing object information showing the shape of an object existing around an own vehicle and the distance to the object (S110, S120), and detects the three-dimensional shape of a dead angle region due to the object based on the obtained object information (S130, S140). According to such operation support system. not only the flat distribution of the dead angle region but also the three-dimensional distribution can be detected. Therefore, it becomes possible to estimate the size of the object hiding in the dead angle region from the detected three-dimensional shape, thereby making it possible to accurately judge the possibility that some objects jump out from the dead angle region. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
