<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a safety device of a short elevator for always decelerating a car in a range of a desired deceleration to stop the car, satisfying a design condition of a shock absorber and allowing a distance up to stop to be equivalent to the conventional hydraulic shock absorber even when carrying load of the whole car varies with increases and decreases of the number of passengers. <P>SOLUTION: The safety device of the elevator includes: a plurality of the shock absorbers for dividing the carrying load from a passenger-less car to a full-passenger car into a plurality of carrying load zones and using plastic deformation decelerating the car at a deceleration within a prescribed range when the car in each carrying load zone collides in the safety device of the elevator for absorbing collision energy with the plastic deformation; a control device for specifying the shock absorber corresponding to the carrying load zone including the carrying load of the car; and a mechanism selected so that the car may collide with the specified shock absorber. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
