<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve portability without giving discomfort to subjects. <P>SOLUTION: An electronic cassette 11 has first and second housings 21 and 22, whose top and bottom surfaces are flat. The housings 21 and 22 consist of first and second housing bodies 23 and 24 and first and second lids 25 and 26 that cover openings of the housing bodies 23 and 24. The first lid 25 of the first housing 21 is formed from a material that transmits x-rays and the second housing 22 is made of metal. Electric connectors 27 and 28 that can be engaged with and disengaged from each other are attached to the facing surfaces 23a and 24a of the housing bodies 23 and 24, respectively. Fastening parts 29 and 30 that fasten each other are provided on side surfaces 23b and 24b of the housing bodies 23 and 24. A cylinder part 31 for holding is formed near an end surface 24c of the second housing body 24 and a hole part 32 for holding communicating with the cylinder part 31 for holding is formed in the second lid 26.
