PERSON PROTECTION APPARATUS

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce impact on a head of a pedestrian or a bicycle rider without using an air bag inflated on a front hood.

SOLUTION: A person protection apparatus 10 includes: a bar-shaped protection member 14 extended in a vehicle width direction; and a support arm 16 formed in an arm shape and having one end turnably connected to a vehicle body front part and the other end connected to the protection member 14. The support arm 16 supports the protection member 14 relative to the vehicle body so that the protection member 14 is moved from a normal use position to an actuation position above a front hood 20 when impact load from a vehicle front part is input to the protection member 14 while the protection member 14 is in the normal use position located in front of the front hood 20.
