FIXING DEVICE, IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS, AND HEAT GENERATION BELT

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a heat generation belt having different heat generation amount in accordance with position in the belt, as well as a fixing device and a image forming apparatus having the heat generation belt.

SOLUTION: The fixing device has a heat generation belt 41 that is provided with a resistance heating element layer 412 which generates heat when it is energized. Areas 453 of the resistance heating element layer 412 have a plurality of holes in them and therefore have higher resistance values than the area 452. When the heat generation belt 41 is energized, heat generation amount is greater in edge parts (non-paper-passage areas 443) than in the center part (paper passage area 442).
