<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gift selection system that is provided with a website on the Internet to mediate between a sender of a gift and a receiver thereof, and allows the receiver to easily select, for example, a desired gift item on the web with a gift card being sent from an agent to the receiver. <P>SOLUTION: A gift card holder, or an end user, accesses a website and inputs a card number and an authentication number that are written on the gift card so that one of a plurality of gift selection courses is selected according to the card number etc., and an electronic catalog of the course is displayed on a screen. Then, order transaction is performed by selecting a desired catalogue page and an item etc., thereon with a tool such as a word search on the selected electronic catalogue.
