<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress sliding wear between contacts of a floating connector. <P>SOLUTION: The floating connector 100 includes a receptacle 2 having a contact 25 and a housing 20 supporting the contact 25, a plug 1 having a contact 15 and a housing 10 supporting the contact 15, and a position shift absorption mechanism PA which absorbs a position shift when the plug 1 and receptacle 2 are fitted to each other, and terminal parts 153, 253 of the contacts 15, 25 abutting against each other when the housings 10, 20 are fitted to each other.
