METHOD OF FORMING THROTTLE PASSAGE, EXPANSION VALVE WITH THROTTLE PASSAGE, AND PIPING WITH THROTTLE PASSAGE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To form a throttle passage in a refrigerant passage of a refrigeration cycle easily and at low cost.

SOLUTION: An open end side of the refrigerant passage 6 of the refrigeration cycle is expanded to provide a step portion 7 therein, a throttle passage member 1 is placed on the step portion, and a rim of the outer peripheral part is widened by squashing with a columnar squashing tool 8, thereby causing the throttle passage member to be fixedly engaged to an inner wall of the refrigerant passage 6 to form a throttle passage. The throttle passage member 1 has a simple shape formed only by machining a circular plate 2 having a circular hole 3 formed in a center thereof into a truncated conical shape, and therefore can be made at low cost. The throttle passage member is only squashed to be fixedly engaged in the refrigerant passage 6, and therefore the throttle passage can be easily formed.
