<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical scanner capable of performing low-speed printing at an optional magnification including one-third speed printing in a stable rotational speed range of a polygon mirror while maintaining high resolution. <P>SOLUTION: In an optical scanner 10 comprising a monolithic laser diode (light source) 22 having n (n is a natural number of 2 or more)-pieces of light-emitting points; a polygon mirror 25 for deflecting a light beam emitted from the light-emitting points of the monolithic laser diode; and fθ lenses 26 and 27 for image formation of the light beam deflected by the polygon mirror 25 on a face to be scanned (photosensitive drum) at an uniform speed, the face to be scanned is scanned at "a speed ratio except for (1/(a divisor of n)) and less than 1/n" relative to a normal speed by controlling on/off of n-pieces of the light-emitting points which the monolithic laser diode 22 has. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
