<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a direct methanol fuel cell which improves an output density while including separators each of which is made channel-free by cutting or pressing and in which a micron-order channel is inherent and a thickness can be reduced in comparison with the prior arts. <P>SOLUTION: The present invention relates to a direct methanol fuel cell including an anode to which a methanol aqueous solution is supplied as a fuel; a cathode to which an oxidized gas is supplied, an electrolyte membrane interposed between the anode and the cathode; a first separator disposed on an anode surface on an opposite side to the electrolyte membrane; and a second separator disposed on a cathode surface on an opposite side to the electrolyte membrane. Each of the first and second separators is a membrane containing a copolymer of a first vinyl monomer having an annular functional group to which a carbonyl group is coupled, a second vinyl monomer having a carboxyl group, and a third vinyl monomer having an aromatic group, and carbon powders dispersed in the copolymer. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
