A method for supplying power to a wireless network terminal and a wireless network terminal are provided. The method includes: detecting potential information of two power lines of a Universal Serial Bus (USB) interface of the wireless network terminal; determining a type of a power supply device connected to the USB interface according to the potential information of the two power lines; and when the type of the power supply device is a power supply device having a communication manner, controlling the wireless network terminal to work in a predetermined communication mode, in order to realizing supplying power to the active wireless network terminal with the power supply device. Technical solutions which are provided can reduce the cost of the wireless network terminal, and omit a battery with a large volume, which is prone to miniaturization and integration of the wireless network terminal. |
