<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a situation in which a movement of a registration roller exceeds a movable limit, and prevent reduction in productivity of image forming operation and a cost increase. <P>SOLUTION: An image forming apparatus comprises an image forming part, a registration roller 32, a shift sensor 34, a registration roller position detection sensor 37, and a CPU 51. The CPU 51 carries out: executing a side-shift correction for the sheet P by moving the registration roller 32 to a first direction while holding the sheet P based on a side-edge position of the sheet P detected by the shift sensor 34; changing a setting of the image writing position to be performed by the image forming part 20 so that the registration roller 32 is moved in a second direction opposite to the direction in which the registration roller 32 has moved, if the position of the registration roller 32 is determined to have reached a predefined position after the side-shift correction; and causing the registration roller 32 to be moved in the second direction while holding the sheet P and causing an image to be formed on the sheep P at the image writing position that has been changed. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT |
