IMAGE PROCESSING APPARATUS

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image processing apparatus that can reflect a change in each pixel value in a digital value in the whole range of pixel values included in a region to be used for feature extraction, accurately extracting features.

SOLUTION: A preprocessing means 10 outputs a converted image by converting a pixel value of a pixel in an image captured by an imaging device 2 into a digital value of a prescribed range in accordance with a conversion table 12. Main processing means 20 extracts a feature related to a predetermined spatial region captured by the imaging device 2 using the image output from the preprocessing means 10. Range specifying means 40 specifies a range of the pixel values for at least the region to be used for feature extraction by the main processing means 20 in the image output from the preprocessing means 10 and displayed on a screen of a monitor 3. Table generating means 50 generates a conversion table 12 by associating upper and lower limit values of the range of the pixel values specified by the range specifying means 40 with the prescribed range of the digital values output from the preprocessing means 10.
