PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent impairing of safety or an operation of an on-vehicle system when escaping from a coasting mode where an engine of an automobile has stopped.

SOLUTION: An automotive electrical system ES comprises a main electrical power source MB, a secondary electrical power source AB, safety critical electrical loads Ll and non-safety critical electrical loads L2, and an electrical switching device DBM arranged among the main electrical power source and the secondary electrical power sources MB, AB and at least the safety critical electrical loads Ll, and configured to selectively connect at least the safety critical electrical loads Ll to at least one of the main electrical power source MB and the secondary electrical power sources AB. The electrical switching device DBM is configured to connect at least the safety critical electrical loads Ll to the auxiliary electrical power source AB during the cranking of the internal combustion engine ICE and/or when a motor vehicle MV meanders in an off state of the internal combustion engine ICE and the main electrical power source MB is faulty.
