An elongate hand-held printer device includes an upper and a lower moulding configured to receive each other in a complementary fashion to define a housing, said housing defining an ink ejection slot; a printhead module housed in the housing, the module having a plurality of micro-electromechanical ejection devices configured to eject ink via the ink ejection slot; media slides protruding from each of the upper and lower mouldings, the media slides configured to elevate the printer device from a medium and prevent interference between the printhead module and ink ejected from the micro-electromechanical ejection devices; and a capping device coupled externally to a major face of the upper molding. The capping device includes a finger pad provided on an actuation arm of the capping device, the finger pad for facilitating pivoting of the capping device away from a print face of the printhead module. |
